Li-Wi Technology



Li-Fi Li-Fi Technology is a bidirectional, high speed and fully networked wireless communication technology similar to Wi-Fi.This is a form of visible light communication and a subset of optical wireless communications (OWC) and could be a complement to RF communication (Wi-Fi or Cellular network). It is so far measured to be about 100 times faster than some Wi-Fi implementations, reaching speeds of 224 gigabits per second. It measures that we can download aroundd 23 movies in a second.

It is wireless and uses visible light communication (VLC), or infra-red and near ultraviolet (instead of radio frequency waves) spectrum, part of optical wireless communications technology, which carries much more information, and has been proposed as a solution to the RF-bandwidth limitations.

This optical wireless communications OWC technology uses light from light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as a medium to deliver networked, mobile, high-speed communication in a similar manner to Wi-Fi.

Li-Fi signals cannot pass through walls, it requires the lightbulb is on at all times to provide connectivity.

Visible light communications (VLC) works by switching the current to the LEDs off and on at a very high rate. whereas Wi-Fi utilizes radio waves, Li-Fi uses visible light. VLC is a subset of optical wireless communications technologies that is a data communications medium which uses visible light between 400 and 800 THz (780–375 nm).

Li-Fi is wireless and uses similar 802.11 protocols like

(802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac and so on)

Li-Fi technology will be in faster, more reliable internet connections in future, even when the demand for data usage has outgrown the available supply from existing technologies such as 4G, LTE and Wi-Fi.
